Varenna is a peculiar village: it is a lovely and modern tourist centre in the heart of the lake transport net and at the same time it preserves its medieval aspect and atmosphere.The Hotel Royal Victoria has very old traditions. Once a spinnery, Mrs Giuseppina Pezzinitransformed it into a hotel calling it "Hotel Royal". In 1838 the Queen of England stayed here and it was in her honour that the hotel changed its name into "Hotel Royal Victoria". Probably also the famous musician and composer Gounod was inspired by his contemplations of the lake at sunset before composing his"AveMaria".The recent renovations have preserved its XIX century aspect; the rooms offer all modern comforts while maintaining the atmosphere of a charming hotel. The bright and comfortable hall provide a refined and attractive atmosphere. The Restaurant Gourmet, with a nice veranda overlooking the little town of Bellagio, can be reached also by boat thanks to a private wharf. IlConvento dei Cappuccini

Il Convento dei Cappuccini si trova sulle pendici delOrfano nel cuore dellaFranciacorta, in provincia di Brescia.Costruito nel 1569 fu soppresso dal governo del Regno d'Italia nel 1805. I religiosi lo abbandonarono e tutto andò in rovina fino a quando, nel 1987, Rosalba Tonelli e la sua famiglia decisero di far risorgere a nuova vita questo luogo incantevole e dedicarlo, come da sempre fu, a luogo di ospitalità.Completamente ristrutturato, è stato descritto come "Una poesia scandita nella pietra" e oggi potete ammirare il Chiostro allo stato primitivo, la Chiesa dedicata a banchetti e matrimoni, il caminetto di una cella, l'ingresso di una grotta, il pozzo in cui ora si trova una ricca cantina etc...
Una posizione incantevole che domina dall'alto parte della Franciacorta, mentre a mezzogiorno e a sera si stende feconda, ampia e solenne la pianura. Un intimo chiostro vi accoglierà in un tenero abbraccio; percorrerlo sarà come entrare passo dopo passo nell'armonia di un luogo che ha riscoperto la propria antica vocazione alla ospitalità. All'interno, volte e corridoi tipici dell'archiLe cose buone della terra fatte con amore, in un luogo dove la tradizione del cibo e l'armonia sono di casa: una cucina semplice che si rifà alle ricette regionali, una sorta di gustoso tributo agli ingredienti ed ai vini, naturalmente, offerti dalla generosa terra di Franciacorta e dal paziente lavoro dell'uomo. L'elegante Ristorante Cucina San Francesco è a vostra disposizione giorno e sera, così come l'Osteria La Conventina, per un pasto più semplice ma comunque curato e genuino. Per i vostri eventi più importanti potrete scegliere fra le piccole sale, tutte riscaldate da camini, e i saloni adatti alle cerimonie più numerose. L'antica Chiesa del Convento ospita banchetti, feste e matrimoni. Tutto ciò immerso nella quiete del Monte Orfano, che è l'unico sottofondo della raffinata foresteria di questa dimora.
