TourVenice: City Tour on Foot

We will start with an introduction of the history and origins of Venice, and a visit to the St. Mark's Church from the year 832 a.C., built to protect the body of evangelist St. Mark brought to Venice from Alessandria. From the Doge's Palace, where the Doge lived, we will cross the Bridge of Sighs, built in the year 1600, to arrive to the Prisons Palace.At the end of the tour you can visit the artistic glass factory in Murano Island to admire the creation masterpieces (optional visit)..

Venice: The Lagoon Islands

We will start from St.Mark's Square to go directly to Murano Island, the biggest island famous for its glassworks. Here, in 1291 all the glassblowers, were moved for security reasons. Then we will go to Burano island, famous for its painted houses and buildings and for its lace works. At the end the boat will leave to Torcello that is the smaller of the three islands. Now, only 13 people are living there but, on the X century it was a big centre with 40.000 habitants, 12 churches and convents. It was also the richest and most powerful island in the lagoon.

Venice: Glass Factory in Murano

Our guide will take you till the motorlaunch and you will reach one of the most ancient and famous glass factory on the island. Once in the factory you will assist in a small demonstration of the art of glassblowing (an art that has not changed across the centuries). After the dimonstration you can also visit the show rooms. If you want you can choose to go back to Venice with public transportation (vaporetto) or, as we suggest, take the "vaporetto" to go to discover the other islands of the Venetian Lagoon by yourself.
